So you want to make a Glowkin, do you? Well you’ve come to the right place!

Welcome to the MYO Guide! In this Guide we will go over how you can make a Kin! Don’t worry, as all members start off with 2 Free MYO Slots!

What is a Kinling?

Kinlings are the youngsters of Glowkin, in other words, they’re baby Glowkin! Like any baby, they tend to be small and chubby. Not to mention that these little guys are full of personality! All members begin their journey by making a Standard Glowkin.

Kin (Singular): A single Glowkin

Kins (Plural): A group of Glowkin, i.e. two or more

Kinling(s): Young Glowkin, not yet having grown up!

Anatomy Overlook

To understand the anatomy of a Kinling, let’s take a look at this little guy! When making your Kinling, make sure to keep in mind these important traits that all Glowkin are born with!

Kin shoowcase.png
  1. A Gem on Chest, aka their Core

  2. Gem Spots on the Tips of their Ears

  3. A Crystal Crown on the back of their neck/back

  4. Paws or Claws! All Feet must match.

  5. A medium length tail of moderate thickness

  6. Short, Chubby Legs, packed with Baby Fat!

  7. Plenty of Fat on their body, specifically in the stomach area!

A gem core is a Glowkin’s life force, the most important part of a Kin and what keeps their heart pumping! Without their Core, Glowkins would simply not be able to survive! The Gem Core is vital to a Glowkins survival.

Thankfully, a Glowkin's Gem core is the strongest part of a Kin’s anatomy, to the point of being considered unbreakable by many. However, when it does receive a crack, a kin will become more vulnerable to deadly illnesses, similarly to an immunocompromised human. Even the tiniest sniffle, if left untreated, is capable of blossoming into a fatal issue.

Gem Spots are where the magic happens, literally! All Glowkin are able to dip their toes into the world of magic by their gem spots! These let them channel their Magic and funnel it into the world- without their Gem Spots, a Glowkin can’t perform Magic!

What are the gems for?

Unfortunately, The Crown is the most useless part of a Glowkin. Formerly used for showing off when Glowkin were in their primal stages, such as using their crowns to assert dominance and attract mates. However, in modern-day Glowkin times, it’s mostly just a useless yet dazzling addition to their anatomy. As a Glowkin grows, this crown can change in many ways, such as changing in size, morphing its shape, or even shifting where it’s placed on a Glowkins body!

Ear sizes! .png

All kins' ears can be small or medium in length as shown below. However, they cannot be too big that it takes up half of their body!

Take note that the crown has two small points and one large point in the middle! The crown can be stylized in realistic or cartoony!

ANGER.png

While they have their different uses (or, no use at all) they all have one thing in common, they all glow when a kin is feeling an intense or strong emotion. Any emotion can cause this effect, be it anger, happiness, sadness, or any other emotion. If they feel it strong enough, those additions start to glow!

Kinling aren't born with teeth but instead born with a unique mouth that helps them eat and tear at meat. Their mouths are a little tricky when you first draw them, but they'll be easier once you practice them. Inside of their mouth is like ours! Pink! Or pinkish red! Don't worry, there are upgrades that can allow you to change your kins mouth and colors!

Claw and PAW.png

Kinlings are born with either a full set of paws or claws! Meaning all four feet match, so if the front feet are paws or claws, so are the back! Having a mix of the two is considered a rarity among Glowkin, and is practically never seen.

Head shapes ahahaha right and wrong.png

All MYO kins are born with a round head!

Kin ( WRONG) .png

Let's take a look into some common mistakes that you might make!

1. The tail is WAY too big for their baby body! While it's not impossible for a kin to have a long tail, MYO's start off with medium-length tails!

2. Their ears are far too lengthy and should be smushed down!

3. MYO Kinlings start off with Round, egg-shaped heads! This Kinling has a wedge-shaped head, which isn't possible without certain upgrades being applied!

4. This baby is way too tall for a standard Kinling, those long legs of their swill have to be squished down to a more manageable height!

5. Uh oh! Looks like someone went and gave this Kinling both claws and paws. Since that's not available for MYO's one of those sets of feet'll have to change!

6. That crown is just insane! It should resemble three small spikes on the back of the neck, like above!

7.  Now that's one pointy maw! Some of those spikes will have to be removed.

Let's take a deeper look into a Glowkin's anatomy! Time to take a peek at the skeleton.

Let's take a deeper look into a Glowkin's anatomy!

Coloring your Kinling

When creating your MYO Kinling, you have a set range of palettes with predetermined base and secondary colors to choose from! Keep in mind you may only use the secondaries available on the palette you chose, meaning no crossing colors and having purple secondaries on a red base!

Red pallet showcase.png

Every palette has a base color, as well as six secondaries. Keep in mind that you can only use two out of the six secondaries for your placements and no more. Don't go willy nilly slapping all the colors in the world onto your Kinling! Click the button below to see the available MYO Palette's for you to use!

Available Placements

MYO Kinglings work off of a placement system, meaning you must use the placements provided below! Placements should be one solid color picked from your Kinlings available secondaries. You may use a total of four of these placements on your Kinling when coloring them!

Keep in mind that placements may not overlap on another!

Take note that larger placements (The Shirt and Pants placements.) covers up half of the body. So, you are only allowed an additional 2 more placements instead of the 4 placements in total.

The accent can be placed on the eyebrow, the tail, the toes, or the ears of the kinling!

Coloring Do's & Do Not's

Let's take a look at some Do's and Don'ts when coloring your new MYO and getting them picture perfect for their grand debut, and approval!

( WRONG) colored kin.png
  • This Kinling has a colored sclera! Don't forget, the Sclera of MYO Kingling are white, with no tint to them whatsoever!

  • This Kinlings gem areas are all different when they should be the same color! Make sure when coloring your kiddo that their crown, gem spots, and core all match.

  • They're not using any of the available palettes, that not good! Don't forget you must use one of the preset MYO Palettes for your Kinling!

  • They seem to have markings (bands on the legs and a swirl on the bum) when they should only be using placements.

  • They're using foot placements that don't exist! Don't forget, all placements must be pulled from the preset available 15 Placements!

Now that we know what's wrong with that kiddo, let's take a good look at how to fix them up and get them all good to go for approval!

( Correct) colored kin.png

Much better! Now that they've been all fixed up and all the previous issues have been cleared, they should be all good to go and ready for approval. Now we just have to get them on an approval and ready to go!

Wrapping it Up!

Now that you've got your Kinling all drawn up and ready to be slapped on that approval template you chose, let's take a look at how to get your Kinling approved! Greenie is here to help us understand just how to get your Kinling approved!

Greenie correct position.png

Keep in mind that when drawing approvals, they should be in a simple standing position facing to the right or left! All four of their feet should be on the ground and all feet should be more or less visible. All essentials (gem spots, crown, eyes, placements, etc.) should be easy to see on your approval! Keep in mind that at least the pair of feet closest to the viewer should show all three toes!

Once you have that all done, upload your Kingling to Deviantart with the following in their description!

NAME: This should be the same name listed on your Kinglings application image!
SEX: This is your Kingling biological sex! Keep in mind that sex doesn't equal gender, so feel free to include their pronouns!
CREATION: This is how your kinling was made! You'll want to put MYO here, since you're making an MYO Kinling!
HATCH LOCATION:
Where your Kinling hatched! Whether it be in the orphanage of the town, or deep in the woods!
ID #: Your Kinling ID #! This will be provided to you upon their approved!

Once you've got your application uploaded make sure to head over to our Discord server to get them approved in the #myo-approvals channel. Make sure to follow the pinned form in that channel!
